The Kalashnikov family of rifles have a long-standing legacy in firearms . What started in 1945 as an effort to supplant the Mosin-Nagant in soviet infantry service resulted in one of the most prolific bloodlines of semi/automatic rifles in history. Within this AK pack you’ll find a broad selection from the family history and role-defining variations, starting with the original milled receiver AK47 an going through to the coming of age in the AK12. Details
The M14 is the big F-You to FN Herstal and the FAL. At it’s core, it’s more or less just an Auto-fire capable M1 Garand that feeds from external mags instead of en-block clips, for better or worse. Of the “Big 3” .308 battle rifles of the era, the M14 is the most cumbersome, but like it’s parent design, is a nail-driver. It was so good at it that it well outlived it’s immediate successor (the original M16) in US Armed force usage. The latest iteration, the Mk14 EBR/M39 EMR platforms though, likely signal the end of it’s life, as the adoption of those was primarily decided due to an abundance of mothballed M14s and a distinct lack of 7.62 NATO effectiveness in the current arid conflicts, and M110s and Mk11s were in short supply.

In the 1950s, Small arms company Armalite (then bought as a division into the Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corporation) was founded to create firearms that focused on utilising the latest in material design to bring to market light, better weapons. The company, under the orders of legendary Chief Engineer Eugene Stoner brought to market two notable rifle designs to the table in it’s early life – The AR-10 and AR-15. The AR-10 competed initially for the Infantry Combat Rifle trials, which it ultimately lost to the M14, but the overall concepts and rough design layout it created printed the mold for it’s lighter calibre successor: the AR-15. Both systems have a direct gas impingement system – gas is tapped back via tube to the bolt to apply direct gas pressure on the bolt to cycle. The system as designed was simple to strip and operate, light and ,with the correct spec ammo, accurate and reliable. First adopters of the AR-15, the US Air Force and Army Special Forces, sung high praise of the rifle, ultimately leading to it’s introduction to service with the Marines as the M16. Unfortunately too late for Armalite itself, dissatisfied with the response in the market prior to wide adoption, sold the AR-10 and AR-15 patterns to Colt, and AR-10 to a Dutch company. Armalite had a few smaller successes with other Stoner designs (Notably the AR-18), but the company never really saw widespread success and closed it’s doors in 1988.

Today, the AR-15 stands not as one weapon ,but as a family platform of largely interchangeable variations on the concept, with wide adoption in Military, Law Enforcement and Civilian shooting areas. This pack reflects just some of that variety, not to cover the bog standard M4s and M16s, but some more exotic variations.

The FN Minimi came about as a project to take the heavy and not readily portable FN MAG GPMG and create a more modern, man-portable Light Machine Gun. Initial prototypes for Minimi were built for 7.62x51mm, with the switch to 5.56x45mm NATO coming relatively late in it’s development. The resulting LMG was probably a little heavier than it could have been, but certainly still fit the bill, so was adopted en masse. The pack covers the majority of the the Minimi/M249’s service life, primarily bracketing from the early 1990s to the current day.

Details
The story of the Arctic Warfare Magnum pretty much mirror’s the rise of it’s maker- Accuracy International. What started in the 1980s with the then small-time manufacturer winning the contract to replace the Enfield L42A1 (No.4 SMLE “Sporting” rifle) with it’s Arctic Warfare rifle- adopted as the L96, grew markedly with it’s success with LE,Military and Sporting shooters. From there, really the only way was up, and within the decade, Accuracy International began looking at building it’s successor- Something in purpose-built Long-range calibers. The result: the Arctic Warfare Magnum, available in factory chamberings of 7mm Mauser, .300 Win Mag and .338 Lapua Magnum (AKA Moly-coated $10 Bills). Essentially the same rifle as the AW with a few slight alterations to make the weapon more sturdy with the stouter rounds- Redesigned chassis, Buttspike (Not Included), Muzzle Brake and Barrel fluting are amongs the improvements.

This pack covers Two variants of the Magnum family, one real, one fake, in one caliber (.300 Win Mag, because WIN MAG):
The AWM (Technically AWM-F) and the AWC-M ( A bastard hybrid of an AWM and an AWCovert. The narrative excuse is it is a limited run, purpose-built contract order by a PSC, though that doesn’t excuse it being wildly impractical). The original model(which was the AWC) comes from my now-mothballed project For Hire, but I got enough interest in it that I revived it for Arma3.

• Ghillie-wrapped variant of the AWMs
• Additional notes-
- Supports ACE Ballistics. AWM has a 24″ Barrel with a 279.4mm twist, AWC-M has a 16″ barrel (Shrouded with suppressor) 203mm twist.
- While it’s not a dependency of the AWMs, I highly, HIGHLY reccommend running this with Kerc’s Weapon Eventhandleer Framework (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?192780-Weapon-Eventhandler-Framework). I designed this mod with the use of it in mind, BUT it can run without it. Please show some love and use it

When it comes to the 9mm Parabellum round, theres really only one weapon family that makes it work for it’s keep- the MP5.
Pistol-round SMG variant of the venerable G3 rifle- an SMG so good that it’s been in the arms of police and SF unit for half a century now. Everything that the MP5 is can be attributed to it’s parented design, but it’s long standing can only be attributed to just how much performance it squeezes out of a pistol round. The M4 may be the new contender for the position of door-banger’s choice for it’s ability to engage at ranges longer than 150m, but the MP5 more than holds it’s own right up to the VERY margin of that line and slightly beyond with it’s free-float barrel (only held back by the sheer limitations of the round).
In short, the MP5 eats what you feed it, shoots where you point it, runs how you need it to and breaks down how you’d like it to.

In this pack you get 10 variations of the venerable SMG, from it’s most basic as the MP5a2 to the most extravagant as the MP5/10 and everything in between. Additionally three suppressors are provided. No two of these weapons are identical in performance, weight, or inertia. Very similar, but not the same.

Details
The M134 rotary canon has for several decades been the poster-child for gatling-derived aircraft and static-emplacement weapon systems. Despite the overall simple design concepts, it’s a clockwork nightmare. The original models by GE too had notable hangups relating to feed reliability, making safe, and inadvertent chainfire. The solutions were provided by both DeGroat Tactical and Dillon Aerospace (the G and D variants respectively), introducing a clutch, improved delinker and feed chutes.

These improvements were not added to the Predator OR Terminator 2 handheld Miniguns, and this model fixed that. That is to say this is a MODERN M134D, on an updated rendition of the “Ol’ Painless” Handheld Minigun from Predator(hence “epilator”), and with some of the limitations of Arma’s handling in mind. Additionally, the M134 as depicted here has 2 fire modes- 1 with the lowest possible real-life ROF of the minigun(around 1300 RPM), plus one more cinematic one with a slightly more bassy firing sound and about only 1000 RPM.

As a cautionary note about unrealism of of the weapon – You can attach vanilla optics and side attachments to the weapon.

Features:
In the months following the release of Arma 3 alpha I wrote a number of mods which did different things, but all of which had a common goal of increasing the immersion and realism of the single player experience in Arma 3. As the number of mods and their complexity increased, I found it increasingly difficult to keep track of feedback on multiple threads and maintain them all separately, so I took the decision to bundle them all into one addon, imaginatively titled TPW MODS. TPW MODS consists of a number of independently configurable components, and if you use them all you'll get:

Infantry realism:
• Units reacting realistically to suppressive fire by ducking/going prone and seeking cover (TPW EBS)*.
• Units reacting to falls and bullet hits by falling/ragdolling to the ground (TPW FALL).
• Units continuing to bleed from injuries, resulting in decreased mobility and eventually incapacitation and death if not treated (TPW BLEEDOUT).
• Units able to self heal using First Aid Kits (TPW BLEEDOUT)
• Units rapidly reacting to nearby enemies they have line of sight to (TPW LOS)*.
• Sounds for jumping, falling, rolling and turning prone, sounds for freefalling and under canopy (TPW FALL).
• Realistic HUD with bullet trajectory tracing when using tactical goggles (TPW HUD).
• Ambient infantry combat, with AI able to call in support (TPW SKIRMISH).
• More realistic (slower) movement and stance change speeds.

Civilians:
• Region specific civilians in towns, walking around and interacting with each other (TPW CIVS).
• Civilian traffic, which you may commandeer (TPW CARS).
• Civilian cars parked by the side of the road near habitable houses (TPW PARK).

Weather:
• Region specific climate (TPW FOG).
• Ground fog, units with foggy breath, and a chance of snow, during colder weather (TPW FOG).
• Ground heat haze / mirage effects during hot weather (TPW FOG).
• Rain droplet effects on the ground near the player (TPW RAINFX).
• Refractive rain droplet effects on car windscreens and player goggles (TPW RAINFX).

All mods interoperate well, and share a common startup hint. All mods are light on resources and a lot of work has gone into optimising them so they should not cause undue slowdowns or framerate issues. You can use the TPW MODS of your choice to enhance existing missions and campaigns, or to simply turn any empty map into a living breathing combat zone with endless replayability.
