Zitat

This is not your ordinary uniform retexture mod.

It has began several months ago, as a replacement for BLUFOR uniforms' textures, to make them both look and conceal better. I'm a camo pattern enthusiast and this matter bothered me, especially when compared to excellent digital-hex patterns of CSAT and later FAA. It took me lots of time and effort and over 20 iterations of the design, starting with simple recolorations of the original textures, to the point when I had the current uniform ready. Still, I had considered it as a small personal mod only, made for my own enjoyment.

But by a coincidence, Crye Precision released four offshoot patterns, just as I finished with the uniform. At that point I already had the basic pattern figured out and templates collection at hand, so I made the decision to include them also, expand the mod significantly and make it public. So here it is, for your enjoyment.

Features:
- hand painted camouflage patterns of great quality and sharpness;
- carefully researched and corrected colours, for both maximum fidelity with the originals and concealing properties within the game;
- pattern designed and resized with the help of Multicam clothing and gear I personally own;
- camouflage doesn't "spill" over seams, but it appears as if items were made of different sheets of fabric;
- sweet personal radios;
- BLUFOR uniform in five camo patterns;
- three additional mixed camo uniforms, made with "dark over light" principle in mind;
- four backpacks;
- four vests;
- three helmets;
- three soft headgear types;
- all items in each of the five patters;
- custom inventory icons for all items;
- three replacement options, for having MLCP equipped units in your favourite missions right away;
- VAS compatible + uniform & gear box for multiplayer.

Usage:
mlcp.pbo - this is your basic file. It gives you everything, but doesn't replace anything. You can still get the good stuff by assigning it to standard NATO soldiers in their init field in the mission editor, by placing my "Empty/Ammo/MLCP Uniforms & gear box" and using it in-game or by using VAS.

mlcp_u_mc_replace - it replaces MTP uniforms only, including tee, rolled sleeves and uniform-part of the ghillie suit. Other items are left in vanilla state.

mlcp_v_mc_replace - it replaces NATO vests, headgear and backpacks with Multicam pattern. This is for complete single-pattern look (see screenshot with the quad).

mlcp_v_tr_replace - it replaces NATO vests and helmets with Tropic pattern, while the soft headgear and backpacks remain in Multicam. This is for a look being closer to the original NATO appearance and for a better breakup of soldier's silhouette - yes, it actually works that way (see screenshot with Camp Maxwell guard).

For a complete replacement, you need "U" and one of the "V"s, but you can't have both "V"s enabled at once. One of them has to sit in a storage folder, while the other goes into addons folder.

Replacements doesn't change any of the properties of the items, with the exception of better concealing effects which, depending on actual conditions, range from "practically invisible from 50m" to "busted". In general, you'll blend in with the environment quite well, unless you make a gross error or the conditions really work against you. "Default" Multicam pattern works quite good to excellent over a wide range of maps and conditions, but obviously there are instances, when it's multiterrain heritage lets you know about itself. Overall I managed to did justice to the patterns' real life quality, without overglorifying its effectiveness.

Description:

Features:
- hand painted camouflage patterns of great quality and sharpness;
- carefully researched and corrected colours, for both maximum fidelity with the originals and concealing properties within the game;
- pattern designed and resized with the help of Multicam clothing and gear I personally own;
- camouflage doesn't "spill" over seams, but it appears as if items were made of different sheets of fabric;
- sweet personal radios;
- BLUFOR uniform in five camo patterns;
- three additional mixed camo uniforms, made with "dark over light" principle in mind;
- four backpacks;
- four vests;
- three helmets;
- three soft headgear types;
- all items in each of the five patters;
- custom inventory icons for all items;
- three replacement options, for having MLCP equipped units in your favourite missions right away;
- VAS compatible + uniform & gear box for multiplayer.

Installation:
Standard procedure. Just copy the files to your mod folder, enable them with your preferred method and you're good to go.

Included files:
mlcp.pbo
mlcp_u_mc_replace.pbo
mlcp_v_mc_replace.pbo
mlcp_v_tr_replace.pbo
mlcp_v_rg_replace.pbo

Usage:
mlcp.pbo - this is your basic file.

This is for a look being closer to the original NATO appearance and for a better breakup of soldier's silhouette - yes, it actually works that way (see screenshot with Camp Maxwell guard).

mlcp_v_rg_replace - it replaces headgear and backpacks with Multicam pattern and vests are replaced with Ranger Green single colour versions.

For a complete replacement, you need "U" and one of the "V"s, but you can't have more than one "V"s enabled at once. Only one "V" can be put into addons folder, while the rest have to be kept in the storage folder.

Terms of use:
- you can unpack and modify my files for your own enjoyment, I have nothing against it;
- you can include my files as part of your own published mods for as long, as you give me credit for the original work - a short note along the lines of "uniform textures from MLCP addon by armapirx" would be enough;

- you can not use any files from this addon for any enterprises related to earning money, including but not limited to: payware addons, contract work for third parties and competitions with prizes. What was given free to you, should remain free for the others.

Change log:
1.1 - a number of small fixes and new details, as well as a couple of additional features, as requested

1.0 - initial release and probably a final one, unless I find a bug or decide to add or tweak something

Notes:
- screenshots were taken at my usual High texture quality, the textures are actually 100% hand-painted sharp (not a single blurry pixel in there) and their appearance in game depends on your settings;
- screenshots are from v1.0;
- only "unpainted" helmets are replaced, the "spraypaint" and similar variants are left in their vanilla state, to preserve the feel of soldiers customizing their gear;
- some NATO units use green assault packs by default and these are left in vanilla state;
- box contains only one item of each type, for easy browsing;
- all uniforms are full-sleeve only, for maximum camouflage. Tee and rolled sleeve variants are available only in Multicam through replacement;
- custom inventory items and names appear only if you manually assign my gear to the units (with editor/box/VAS), replacements still use vanilla icons and names - this is intentional;
- I didn't make any screenshots from far away, because you wouldn't see anything anyway ;)

Credits & Thanks:
Bohemia Interactive - for the game
Crye Precision - for the camo patterns
Saul and topas - for the templates, which gave me an idea how to set up my own ones
surpher - for invaluable help with the configs

Alwarren - for FHQ M4, one of my favourite weapons packs
Taosenai and cambam47 - for TMR Modular Realism - Alternate mod, I can't imagine playing without it

All models and original textures, parts of which I used, made by Bohemia Interactive.
